  1. Learn about tectonic plates both from the Volcano World website on tectonic plates and from the Encarta CD!
  2. Learn about earthquakes at Volcano World's Earthquake page. Click through at least 5 of their slides.
  3. Check out Nova's Savage Earth site showing types of faults!
  4. Go to this part of the Nova site and select the The Hot Zones animation (it's highlighted in purple- below the map of the plates)
  5. Have there been any Earthquakes in the Bay Area in the last few days? Check out the USGS map showing all earthquakes! A map of the state of California is also available.
